Clean Audio

  • Music must be “streaming quality”

  • Only submit music that’s been mixed + mastered (no demos unless requested)

  • Uploaded in WAV format min. 24-bit/48kHz (industry spec)

  • For extra credit, it’s helpful to have stems + alt version like instrumentals, tv mix, 30 sec. cutdowns, etc.

  • In order to be considered “one-stop”, we need to clear both sides of the track: master + publishing

  • Master Side: who owns the recording? A record label?

  • Publishing Side: who are the songwriters? Is there a signed split sheet? (we can provide this!)

  • Also need to know the Publisher info (if any)

disclose samples/ai

  • Please disclose whether any uncleared samples or A.I. were used in the track(s), as this will present licensing challenges

  • Cross Country only represents real music by real people. We refuse to bow down to the chatbot overlords that will undoubtedly perpetuate the downfall of our meager hopeless existence :)

  • To ensure you don’t miss out on any back-end publishing royalties, your tracks must be registered with your Performing Rights Organization

  • When you land a placement, the music supervisor enters your PRO information in a cue sheet to track your royalties so a payment is never missed!

    • 100% Artist-Owned: You keep 100% ownership of your copyrights (Master/Publishing/whatever you represent), only allowing Cross Country to represent + license it for synchronization

    • Freedom of Representation: You can still sign to other non-exclusive agencies and music libraries

    • While we’d hate to see you go, you can terminate the agreement at any time

    • Cross Country uses DISCO.AC, the leading digital asset system + industry standard used by top networks and music supervisors

    • We meticulously tag your tracks + manage metadata for superior searchability based on the needs + recommendations of top-level music buyers

    • The “EPK” factor: We create and maintain Artist Pages w/ profile images and links to your social media

    • We create + regularly share curated DISCO playlists highlighting our roster based on mood/genre/season/vibe

    • We handle the heavy paperwork and legal scrutiny so you can stay in the studio, knowing your rights are fully protected

    • We navigate the fine print so you don’t accidentally sign away your rights or future royalties

    • Major deals require a clean “chain of title”; we take care of the heavy lifting so missing a signature never kills your deal

    • We’re not located in LA or NYC, but Cross Country is perfectly situated for regional representation for artists in Western Canada

    • We participate in listening sessions w/ music supervisors to highlight our roster, get on briefs, and stay on top of productions in the pipeline

    • Our agency will never claim any back-end publishing royalties, and never requires payment of any kind from our artists. Our job is to get you paid.

    • Like a realtor, Cross Country only gets paid if we get you a deal. Meaning we take a percentage of the “sync fee” paid out by the production company/music buyer

    • Our contracts are vetted through Canadian entertainment lawyers for transparency and trust, so you can be confident signing on the dotted line
